Experience the remarkable diversity of Queensland’s coastline on this relaxed, small-group nature tour. Designed for travellers who value authentic wildlife encounters, beautiful scenery, and excellent photo opportunities. This experience combines close observation of wild kangaroos with rich birdlife, beautiful mangroves, and spectacular ocean views.
After pick-up, we travel to open grasslands where mobs of Eastern Grey Kangaroos are regularly seen feeding in their natural environment. Early morning offers the best opportunities to observe natural behaviour, often with joeys visible in their mothers’ pouches or resting nearby. This is a genuine wildlife encounter that lets you quietly observe and photograph kangaroos in their natural habitat.
We also explore peaceful mangrove habitats on an easy guided walk, revealing a fascinating ecosystem alive with waders, shorebirds, and coastal species. These calm, protected environments provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography.
At Osprey House Environmental Centre, lookouts and bird hides offer beautiful views across the extensive mangrove systems. Continuing across the Houghton Highway, one of Australia’s longest bridges, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Glasshouse Mountains in the distance.
We will have lunch at Scarborough Boat Harbour, where you can visit relaxed seaside cafés or purchase fresh local seafood. Flexible lunch options allow you to enjoy the day at your own pace. After lunch, I will drive you back to your pick-up location.
