Description
Discover the wide variety of rainforest and forest habitats on Tamborine Mountain on this relaxed, small-group nature experience. This tour is ideal for travellers who enjoy scenic walks, waterfalls, and the chance to connect with nature at an unhurried pace.

After pick-up, we travel into the lush hinterland of Tamborine Mountain, where a fascinating mix of ecosystems awaits. Throughout the day, you will explore different forest types, including subtropical rainforest, wet eucalypt forest dominated by towering Flooded Gums, open forest with bracken understorey, and woodland. Each habitat supports its own unique plant and birdlife, creating a diverse and rewarding experience.

Our first stop is Cedar Creek Falls, where we follow a forest track through eucalypt and dry rainforest to the rock pools below. This walk includes a number of steps and a steady uphill return, but rewards you with a beautiful waterfall setting surrounded by rocky outcrops and natural pools.

We then continue to Curtis Falls, one of the most scenic waterfalls on the mountain. The walk begins beneath tall eucalypts, then transitions into a cool, lush rainforest. Notice the change in temperature as the canopy closes in overhead. Ferns, vines, and moss-covered rocks create a tranquil atmosphere, while the waterfall and basalt rock pool form a striking natural focal point.

Midday, we take a relaxed lunch break at a local café, offering flexibility to suit your preferences. This is a chance to unwind and enjoy the peaceful mountain setting before continuing our exploration.

In the afternoon, we visit the Knoll section of the mountain. Here, a gentle rainforest walk leads through towering trees and dense vegetation, with a short side track to Cameron Falls lookout. After or before the walk, you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea at the nearby recreation area, which offers sweeping views across the valley. On a clear day, you can see as far as the distant ranges and surrounding landscapes.

Before returning, we make a final stop at a scenic lookout along the ridge, offering expansive westerly views and a fitting end to the day.

Throughout the tour, there are excellent opportunities to observe birdlife, with a variety of rainforest species often seen and heard along the walking tracks.

This tour offers a well-balanced day of waterfalls, forest walks, and scenic views, showcasing the natural beauty and diversity of Tamborine Mountain in a relaxed and enjoyable way.
